Hi! I JUST finished watching this movie and I love your comprehensive explanation of it! I can barely find that many explanations online but thank God you're writing about it. What do you think about the ending? Do you think Ralphie sort of found comfort in that guy as a "father figure" before eventually facing the repercussions of his action?

One more thing, I watched this without a subtitle so I couldn't really hear the dialogues much (the background music was too loud for me). Was the misogyny made clear in the cult or was it rather implied?

Hey Archie,

It's been a while since I watched this, but as far as I remember, in my reading anyway, I doubt he found comfort in that guy. In fact, he seemed more lost than ever.

I think the misogyny was pretty clear, though I'm not sure if it was said out loud by Brody's leader. But it's there, under the surface, quite strongly.

I see. This movie is definitely ambitious but perhaps it lacked the proper execution to really dig down into it. Nevertheless, amazing performances by Jesse Eisenberg and Adriene Brody. Thank you for your answers!
